i haven't cried like that in a while... sigh... good movie... must read the book now ![]()
Duke: "I am no one special, just a common man with common thoughts. I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me, and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect, I've succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived. I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and for me, that has always been enough."
Duke: "Look, guys. That's my sweetheart in there. I'm not leaving her. This is my home now. Your mother is my home."
Excerpt from a letter from Noah to Allie: "My Dearest Allie. I couldn't sleep last night because I know that it's over between us. I'm not bitter any more, because I know that what we had was real. And if in some distant place in the future we see each other in our new lives, I'll smile at you with joy and remember how we spent the summer beneath the trees, learning from each other and growing in love. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever. I love you. I'll be seeing you. Noah."
ok, i'll quit being uncharacteristically sappy now
but it's sooo good

Isaiah 40: 28-29 NASB
"Do you not know?
Have you not heard??
The Everlasting God,
the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth
does not become weary
or tired.
His understanding is inscrutable.
He gives strength to the weary,
and to him who lacks might He increases power."
When I was born, my mom hung a framed cross-stitch of a verse in Jeremiah in my room. For as long as I can remember, it hung over my bed. Then when I was 13, I redecorated, and it didn't match, so I took it down. I found it again over Easter, and hung it back up. Matching or not, it's something I need to be reminded of.
Jeremiah 1:5
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart."
And then, I started reading the verses after it.
(v. 7-8)
"...Because everywhere I send you, you shall go,
and all that I command you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of them,
For I am with you to deliver you,' declares the Lord."
I have exams back to back starting at 8:15 in the morning, through 11 something Tuesday morning. This is called stress. But the past week or so, I've haven't been as stressed as I normally would be with tests and being sick and such, or at least, I'm trying not to be, b/c I keep reading those verses. I may not know what I'm supposed to do with my life. But, I know this is where God wants me. I'm supposed to be here at LU. I know this.
"Everywhere I send you, you shall go."
He sent me. I'm here. But that doesn't just mean the school. It also means the classes. He sent me to these classes. And whether I like it or not, part of being here, part of being in these classes, is taking exams.
"And all that I command you, you shall speak."
Or maybe, and all that I command you to do, you shall do... like.. take exams... take tests... handle sickness with the right attitude, etc.
"Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you."
So, maybe it's a stretch to want "deliverence" from exams. Maybe not. Sometimes.... sometimes that sounds about right. And, yes, I am afraid of them at times. But, I shouldn't be.
I'm where God sent me. I'm at the school, in the classes. I'm doing what He commanded me to do, in sending me here. I'm taking the classes, doing the homework, taking the tests/exams/finals...
And, I don't have to be afraid.
My God will deliver me.
Granted, part of what I have to do, is study, but, even in that, He is with me and will help me, and in the end will "deliver me". It may not be in the way I want even, but nonetheless, it will work towards the path that I was set apart for before I was born......
I hope that makes sense... It makes sense in my head, but I'm on pain medication. What do I know? :-P
