The world needs more chocolate

... i need a year or so to do nothing but read...

mom just went to an estate sale and got me a complete set of (at least) 53 books... printed 1938. everything from donne, dante, socrates, darwin, vikings, homer, voltaire, hippocrates, pliny, cellini, pascal, pasteur, jenner (the guy who invented the small pox vaccine), aesop, brothers grimm, hans christen andersen... and a ton of other people i don't even recognize...

there are poems and essays and epics and scientific papers and stories, etc...

...and... i don't have time

lizards are employed-type people! and there was much singing and rejoicing in the streets

almost ran off the road today... I saw a patch (read: miniscule) of blue sky on the way home. And I was so startled and kept looking at it instead of the road. and for 5 min while ago, most of what i could see out my window was blue!!! it was highly exciting.

i am so tired of this rain... and i like rain... but after over a month's worth, it gets old.. but i don't have that much to complain about. my house hasn't flooded and my car hasn't been swept off the road. i can still get around for the most part... but the constant rain and slushiness of the ground is depressing...

our yard (those pieces that aren't standing in water) is black... which, would be fine if you lived around Dallas where the dirt is black. but our yard is clay. it's supposed to be red. instead it's grown mold and is black.

they say this is the worst rain/flooding we've had in Texas for 50 years... sigh
