can anyone please tell me why my car refuses to give me my keys? for 2 days now, every time i park the car and turn it off, it won't let me turn the key all the way and take it out. i have to spend 5 min restarting my car and turning it off and restarting it, etc, before it'll let me have my key... i know that's not good for it... but there's no other way i can get my key out, and i don't know why it's doing that. help... :-(

.... not really sure where to start... it's been one of those days...
had a job interview. was 2 hours late. we took the wrong road. figured that out after an hour of driving when we got to Mineola instead of Pittsburg.
drove through pouring rain and high wind the whole time, that kept blowing my car around on the road. drove through some miniature "lakes"... kind of made me want to go to six flags. all the water made a pretty tunnel for my car to go through.
but that part of the drive was fun. we sang along to the musica. much happy. till we realized we were lost...
turned around. ranita pulled my maps out, and found how we could get where we needed to. got to Pittsburg. found the wrong school. but passed it. so we turned around... on the wrong side of the road
and then found the back of the (still wrong) school. in our attempt to find the front we went through a ditch in the middle of the road. full of water. again w/ the water tunnel, boat feeling
but that was a dead end parking lot, so we had to go back through the ditch, this time looking forward to it. somehow, i don't think my car is supposed to feel like the log ride.
found a "driveway" to the front. although it narrowed suspiciously. future hint: if it looks narrow like a sidewalk after a while, it probably is. ranita so kindly got out in the rain and moved the trashcan that was blocking the "driveway" around to the front... and it got smaller. yeah. sidewalk. complete w/ curb at the end. my car was not happy w/ that. i couldnt' back out of there. i had to go over it. not good. and then we parked. and i didn't want to go in, b/c i figured the principal's office was on the other side of the window from our lovely driving exibition. went in. wrong school. the one i needed was on the *other* side of town.
so... we went that way. almost passed it again. went in. had my interview. came back. this time w/ directions on how to get home, which was much easier. we stopped at a big fruit/vegetable thing on the side of the road so julie could buy peaches. kept going down the road. passed some llamas.
continued singing along to the music. at which point julie began mocking my humming style when i don't know the words.
not even going there.
stopped in at another school (after a u-turn to come back through town and again, going to the wrong school), and then went to bodacious - which is always happy. got safely back to white oak, just in time to find....
the tree.
it was lonely.
it decided to play w/ ranita's car.
and the oil well.
luckily julie's car was being anti-social by about 12 inches.
after which discovery, we had a large party in our front yard, sans smores.
i think there were.. 9 people? ranita and her parents. me and mom. my grandparents, who came over w/ a chain saw. julie. and then julie's mom came over to join the party, just b/c.
and now that everyone's gone, my life begins to revolve around calligraphying envelopes for the week..
anyway, the moral of the story is... don't park in my yard. and if julie's in the car, only play music that you know all the words to.
to see lovely pics from the upcoming tv movie drama "the tree and me: the tragic tale of a young car", go hither: (well, go there after i get the pics loaded. give me about 15-20 min)
k. here you go. http://letu.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2007346&l=96c86&id=159100304
