anybody w/ over 538 favorites bookmarked on their computer has a serious problem.... i should know... i just spent two or three hours trying to organize mine... deleted a bunch that were no longer working, and still have that many links... it's rediculous.... but i'm a packrat/input :-P it's allowed.
so anyway.... my nice overly happy adrenaline rush or whatever you want to call it wore off after the first three hours last night... at the end of the first movie, (one that really really annoyed me, b/c the girl did everything wrong intentionally and for awhile it seemed like she'd actually have to deal w/ the consequences, but no... of course she didn't, b/c it's disney, and we all need to learn that lying and deliberately disobeying our parents repeatedly just for the heck of it is a very good thing... so everything worked out just perfectly at the end, beyond her wildest dreams.... give me a break) arg... but by the end of the first movie, i sorta zoned out, staring into space unfortunately thinking again... stayed that way for awhile til shake hit me with her pillow... last night was kinda depressing... for various reasons... but i did laugh more than i have in a while... la toya's a scream :)
we ended up sitting around and talking til 2 am, at which point we decided to watch another movie, but not the other one we'd rented... we were gonna watch one that shake already had, but i'd never seen it and been pestered by "fiddy-billion" people to watch it, but i never got around to renting.... by that point though, i was getting tired... i enjoyed being around everybody... but since like... 7 or 8 somethin, whenever the first movie was halfway over, i'd just been sorta out of it... so i left... which meant i still didn't go to sleep til 3... so i didn't get much sleep last night.... although i did get about three hours of sleep this afternoon in naps... i kept waking up and forgetting where i was and what time it was.... a couple of times, i thought it was morning and that i needed to get up for work, but i couldn't remember the rest of this afternoon, so it confused me...
this morning was weird... very cloudy and overcast... work was a nice distraction, even if i only had to work 3 hours... the play's been extended to next weekend, so i get to put off stuff i needed to do two weeks ago, for yet another week.... and since work... i.. slept... waited on my roomie to call me back... which she didn't... kept getting online to check my email b/c letnet was down and was intentionally making my life difficult.... but what else is new.. it's been doing that to me for the past four some odd years... and then spent several hours organizing stuff on my computer... oh joy... how much duller can life get....
but it did rain today... i missed the first time cause i was in the community center, and didn't notice... and i slept through the second time.... i remember falling asleep right whent the thunder started and waking up right at the end, so i could still see the water dripping off of the roof.... . the rain was good... all the plants were dying... but now it's all "nice" and humid out side, and everything smells like dirt....
the one good thing to come of me being overly bored to the point of going through fiddy-billion bookmarks was that i discovered another person that has seen and likes "scarecrow and mrs. king". i haven't seen taht show in a couple of years, but i loved it... and nobody i'd ever talked to had heard of it... but now i know that karen has :) so i guess life's good... if that qualifies as something to make life good...
at one point i got bored enough that i pulled out my stuff from our sr ap english class.... it's actually all mom's fault, b/c she brought up some girl who was in admissions today who just got her masters in medievil studies, which meant i had to bring up the only old english i' remember reading, the intro to canterbury tales... which meant she had to tell me about her old english teacher in middle school who spoke in old english.... which somehow eventually lead us into discussing random characters in teh story, which i couldn't remember many of, so i had to dig out all my old notes... like you really wanted to know that... oh well.. it's your fault.. you're reading....
anyway, i miss getting to read like that... being actually told to read... i love reading, and i do it on my own enough.. but somehow, especially during the school year, it gets hard to make time to read... so it was nice actually having an excuse to read.... i miss getting to analyze things and have discussions and write about them... i miss random books... like lord of the flies... not everybody liked that book... but i did... it was just a lot of fun to write about... and for some reason i really really liked this quote... i don't remember if if was the very last line of the book, but it was on the last page.. that much i can still see in my head...
"And in the middle of them, with filthy body, matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy."
i miss writing songs about beowulf... that was fun. some of the books weren't that interesting b/c i'd read them in middle school... course.. i read pretty much everything in middle school... :P i don't know how many poems by john donne that we had to read and analyze... some of his stuff i could've cared less about, like the flea, but some of it i really liked... the broken heart had a lot of interesting imagery in it....
can you tell how bored i am? i've got an old english notebook out and i'm reading everything in it... this is pathetic... hmm.... the convergence of the twain... that one was neat.... aack... a modest proposal... brings back horrible memories of the one year in un where somebody actually based their resolution off of that... stupid people... yeah, let's all eat children under the age of 15, stopping only there, b/c after that, they're too tough to eat.... solves world hunger, over population, most child labor problems, etc.... let's see how many stupid people we can find who'll actually pass this in the social summit... we wonder if anybody will actually get the reference.... arg... that was a strange year...
bored lizard.... very bored lizard... with a very boring summer... and a whole other month of more severe unending depressing boredom left before school starts.... maybe i'll go track down a copy of invisible man... read that again... :P on second thought... that was a really long book... oh well... i don't really care what i read... as long as it's not hemmingway.... i know he's supposed to be great, but i can't stand him.... i think having to read a farewell to arms my freshmen year pretty much ruined any chance of me ever liking hemmingway... awful book.... there are very few books i dislike, and even then i can always find some redeeming quality... i hate a farewell to arms with a passion.... can't stand the thing... would burn it if i had my own copy... it was just stupid...
wow... this is pathetic... i have nothing better to do than gripe about a book i read 5 years ago.... ok... i can't stand sinking that low. i quit. goodnight.
