no, i did not write this for you. i just realized today that this summer, i've fallen into a rut, and i'm tired of it... this is just what came to mind, so take it or leave it. i'm too tired to care at the moment. and yes, i know it needs work. a lot of it. but i have 4 more weeks before i have to do hw :-P
She's lost who she is
It makes her sad
Although, she lost because she was
She used to be music
outloud, nonstop
Singing for hours on end
She used to be band
challenging pieces
clear unwavering notes
She used to be books
insatiable hunger
vicariously living in words
She used to be writing
poetry at dusk
heartwrenching nonfiction, drama and more
She used to be
But it's gone
She used to be people
that much remains
it consumes her every day
She used to be surrounded
summer came
loneliness not held at bay
She used to be stationary
yet everywhere at once
now her pattern is stagnant
She used to have interests
now she's consumed
with keeping the quiet away
She used to be
She used to be
But why not now?
why can't she change
find what used to be life
Don't replace
but add to
with grace
Mix a pleasing concoction
Songs die in her throat
so sing while alone
Music gathers dust
so play while able
Books age unread
get lost in the pages
Ideas pass, discarded
keep paper at hand
Stop moping for people
Schedule time and enjoy
You don't have to be
what you once were before
Life keeps on growing,
so change, don't start over
Develop talents and hobbies
don't waste days pinning
She's lost who she was
Maybe that was worth losing
Now make something of your newfound clean slate.
