so... july 31st came... and passed.... and i never did get to go to houston to see The Phantom of the Opera.. :( guess i won't be taking any thing off of my list of 50 things for awhile.... sigh..
on the bright side though, i got to go to kansas to visit my alabamian roomie :) pretty boring drive, but i had fun up there :) we went to see Seusical, which had wonderful music and fantastic sets :-D so it wasn't the phantom.. but it was great! i still get the music stuck in my head:-P
two weeks and i get to move back on campus, which will be happy. i miss being on campus... but at the same time, i'll miss having a full sized fridge and free food ;-) and seeing my mom all the time...
other than kansas, i haven't really done much this summer... work... class... work... dallas... work.... more class... went to kansas.... work....
oh, if anybody knows where i can find a copy of Safe House, could you tell me? nobody carries it... not blockbuster or any of the local rental places... it's a great movie with patrick stewart and it messes with your head :-P although it has explosions for people who seem to think that's required for a good movie ;-)
last time i went looking for that movie, i got accused of being jenny for the first time in two years ;-) :)
mom and i were talking about it the other day, and texas is definately unique (in a good way! :-P ) here, everybody has the flag on everything. we have businesses named after our flag. it's on shirts and plates and trucks and buildings. it flies in front of buildings all over the place. other states don't do that. (if i'm wrong, by all means, correct me) but as far as we can tell, other states don't really care about their flag... i know what... 2 or 3 other state flags look like... but the texas flag is on a lot of stuff i own.. and i know what most of the old texas flags look like too (one of my favorites being the come and take it flag :-P it's just happy) i guess i just don't understand other state's mind sets... we're very proud of our state. (great, now i have the state song stuck in my head... sigh... ) are other places like that? and just.. show it differently? or... do they just.. not care about their state? it's very confusing to me...
i'm out of things to ramble about. now lizards will go get ready for work w/ a mix of "texas, our texas", the phatom of the opera, suessical, and various band songs stuck in my head... sigh...
