| ...i got this laptop in january, and was all excited that it came w/ a free 30 day trial of cingular wireless. put off using it, looking forward to moving into an apartment and then having that until i got some sort of internet (if i didn't keep using letnet dial-up). was decidedly looking forward to it. as i am moving friday (  ), i decided to activate the wireless, since there's no telling how long it'll take to get the phone and dsl hooked up. got into the program to turn it on and everything, and then found some very unhappy fine print: to activate said wireless, one must sign a two year contract, pay for it, and then they'll credit that back to your account. ha.insert glaring lizard here. and so now the unthinkable will happen. lizards will move. and be internetless. for an undetermined period of time. this is an unthinkable atrocity, rumored to make them shrivel up and disappear. no phone. no internet. i can probably deal w/ being completely alone, if i had internet. but w/ *no* connection to the outside world...  this doesn't look good... |
